Shahar Yamay is the CEO of Hefestus USA and a recognized expert in cannabis automation. Raised on the production floor of Hefestus Technologies in Israel, Shahar brings decades of hands-on experience developing and scaling automation systems tailored to the cannabis and food industries.

Over the past several years, he has led Hefestus’ expansion into the U.S. market, working closely with cannabis operators to implement fully automated solutions for pre-roll production, packaging, and labeling. His technical expertise, combined with a profound understanding of operational challenges in cannabis manufacturing, makes him a trusted partner in streamlining efficiency and driving profitability.

Shahar specializes in bridging the gap between engineering and business strategy, collaborating with product teams, marketers, and clients to deliver scalable, cost-effective automation. In recognition of his leadership and innovation, he was named one of Marijuana Venture’s 40 Under 40 honorees.

Now based in Tel Aviv with his wife, two children, and their dog, Shahar is passionate about food, outdoor sports, and building relationships across a fast-moving global industry.
